Wow…I can’t believe it’s already 2011.
2010 – We’re blessed and the month of December came to close with golden keys (a brazilian phrase meaning good fortune) . We’re incredibly busy and the time just flew after working 24/7 to be able to attend to our repeat and new customers that have been helping us to grow our business. Whew … we made it!
A huge thank you to everyone on the Superb Cuisines Team that worked so hard with discipline, dedication, and motivation to make our events SUPERB!

It was such a pleasure to be part of this event. We started very early in the morning (2am) but it was certainly worth it. For such a great cause, we would do this any day … everyday!.
See the pics below – as well as a thank you note from our client.
“Keula,
I wanted to thank you for helping us pull off an amazing event. This fundraiser was HUGE for our agency in raising funds to keep our safehouse and family home open and operating! We appreciate everything and hope you don’t have to be at work at 4:30 am this week! :-)
Best,
Lara Lukaszek, Special Events Coordinator

Superb Cuisines catered a totally unique event hosted by Smart CEO Magazine – for the first time recognizing 20 Chief Marketing Officers in the Washington, DC area. A number of well known (and well marketed) organizations were recognized, including the Washington Redskins, Baltimore Ravens, and Audi of America. See the table below for a full list of the award winners, as well as pics from the event.
P.S. Janet Flowers also did an amazing job with all the flowers … Kudos to her and her entire team.

Who likes Sushi? Not me. I have to admit I’m just not a big fan … at least until now.
My husband and I just visited New York and had a great time seeing Ivete Sangalo at Madison Square Garden and checking out Bobby Flay’s restaurant (see earlier post). But on this trip, I had the best thing I ever ate … at least in New York City.
Let me tell you about Koi Restaurant at the Bryant Park Hotel in New York City. This is a Japanese that specializes in Sushi, and much, much more. To be quite honest, when my husband said he had received a recommendation for a Sushi restaurant that night … I was … well, not very excited. But I am so happy we went to this amazing place!
Here was our menu:
Appetizers: Tuna Sashimi jalapeno and garlic chips, Dragon Roll, Double shrimp roll avocado, sweet chili
And for Dinner: Steamed Chilean Sea Bass with Ginger & Shitake Mushrooms
Guys … this was awesome!!!! Too bad that Koi doesn’t have a restaurant in DC as well – but if you’re in Manhattan this is the place to go!

This weekend my husband and I went to NY for the holiday weekend. It’s always excited to be there … all the lights and shows on Broadway fascinate me. You can never get enough of it.
This time we wanted to try something different and my husband got us tickets to watch the Ivete Sangalo show – a famous Brazilian singer from my home state of Bahia that plays Axe Music – a very popular music in Brazil. All of you know that I have passion for food – so I can’t go to NY without trying some of the world’s best cuisine.
We got there on Friday afternoon and had reservations for dinner at Mesa Grill – Food Network’s Iron Chef Bobby Flay’s restaurant. My husband and I are regulars watching his shows and were very curious and excited to try the food and check the place out! I was so disappointed when I was told Bobby wasn’t back there cooking for us :-)
Just between you and me, I was a bit disappointed, starting with the décor and than later with the food. Bobby Flay specializes in Southwestern cuisine … and we ordered shrimp tamale for appetizers and pork loin and filet mignon for the entrees. It tasted good but not great. I think we both had very high expectations … sorry Bobby Flay …
